Harvia Celebrates 75 Years of Healing with Heat

We proudly celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2025, marking decades of dedication to sharing the healing heat of sauna with the world. What began in 1950, when Tapani Harvia founded a small Finnish workshop producing wood-burning sauna heaters, has grown into a global leader in sauna solutions, offering relaxation and natural wellbeing in nearly 100 countries. This milestone year will feature a series of celebrations and product launches, starting with the Harvia Cilindro wood-burning heater—the first highlight of many anniversary activities to come.

From a Finnish heater manufacturer to a global sauna experience provider

From our Finnish origins, we have embraced a global perspective, expanding our expertise to reflect the rich diversity of sauna cultures and types worldwide. Today, our portfolio spans traditional, infrared, and steam saunas, as well as hot tubs and cold plunges, providing comprehensive solutions for a variety of sauna experiences. With a focus on great user experience and innovation, we invest in areas such as digitalization and energy efficiency while introducing exciting advancements across all sauna types.

One highlight of this milestone year is the expansion of the popular Harvia Cilindro series to include wood-burning heaters. Designed and manufactured in Finland, the heater features a generous stone capacity for excellent steam production, a unique ventilation duct for fast heating, and a durable stainless-steel shell that ensures quiet operation.

Harvia Celebrates 75 Years with Customers Around the World

On 6 June, Harvia Headquarters in Muurame welcomed customers from around the world to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary.

The day began with members of the Harvia family sharing stories from the company’s history, tracing its journey from a small workshop to the global brand it is today. Guests toured our Showroom and museum, gaining insight into Harvia’s latest solutions and upcoming developments in the market.

No visit to Harvia would be complete without experiencing our products first-hand. Guests enjoyed a range of saunas, relaxed in hot tubs, and took invigorating cold plunges.

The celebration concluded with a dinner at Savutupan Apaja, a charming lakeside sauna and restaurant. Surrounded by good food, engaging conversation, and great company, the evening provided a fitting close to a memorable day.

It was a privilege to share this milestone with our customers and to celebrate together in true Harvia style.

Toyota Times Visits Harvia HQ to Explore Finnish Sauna Innovation

During the 2025 Secto Rally in Jyväskylä, representatives from Toyota Times visited Harvia’s headquarters in Muurame to experience the world of Finnish sauna up close.

In addition to touring our factory and museum, guests got to try our concept hydrogen sauna, developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation and Cefmof.

The visit ended with an authentic sauna experience in Harvia’s backyard sauna world, showcasing Finnish sauna traditions in their full glory.

With international interest in Harvia growing steadily, such visits underline the company’s role as a global leader in sauna innovation and open the door to exciting collaboration opportunities in the future.

Harvia and Toyota Motor Corporation hydrogen-powered sauna concept with support from Cefmof

Together with Toyota Motor Corporation and with the support of Cefmof, we have developed a concept hydrogen sauna. This innovative sauna blends Harvia’s sauna expertise with Toyota’s innovative hydrogen combustion technology.

Inspired by the traditional Finnish smoke sauna, the experience delivers gentle, enveloping heat and soft, soothing steam (löyly).

Thanks to hydrogen combustion, the sauna produces no carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, or particulate emissions during use - meaning cleaner local air and a more enjoyable, breathable sauna experience.
