FAQ about the energy consumption of sauna bathing
- Our CTO Timo Harvia responds

In the coming winter, much of Europe and abroad will view the price and energy with more consideration than in previous years. Many people may think that going to the sauna is one of the things you should compromise on to save electricity. We encourage to have a closer look at the energy consumption of sauna bathing as the equation is influenced by several variables – desired temperature, time of the sauna session, materials used in the sauna, the ratio of the heater’s power to the volume of the sauna, operation of ventilation, and so on. With many easy tips, you can significantly reduce the energy consumption of sauna bathing. In addition, it is good to remember that in any case, most of the heat from the sauna room remains in the building.
